Halk tıbbında pek çok hastalığın tedavisinde kullanımı oldukça yaygın olan H. perforatum L. ve Anadolu’ da geniş yayılım gösteren bir başka Hypericum türü olan H. sacbrum L. toprak üstü kısımlarının yara iyi edici ve antienflamatuvar etkileri çeşitli in vivo deney modelleri kullanılarak denenmiştir. H. perforatum toprak üstü kısımları, halk arasında kullanıldığı şekliyle zeytinyağı içerisinde yaklaşık 4 hafta bekletilmek suretiyle hazırlamış ve sırtlarında eksizyon ve insizyon yaraları oluşturulmuş sıçanlara haricen uygulanmıştır.
