Traits of Nordic Architecture is a scholarly publication including the works done by students at the Contemporary Nordic Architecture course (ARK-04227), a Master's level course held at the Tampere University School of Architecture in the Spring semester 2020. The Contemporary Nordic Architecture course aims at investigating the common characteristics of Nordic examples of built works of architecture by analysing their design strategies and features. Each of the works, usually developed in small groups, opposes a contemporary example of architecture with a Modernist one through four broad themes around which the course unfolds: context & history, landscape & city, typology & organisation, and space & materiality.
