This paper proposes a theoretical discussion on the apparent paradox that exists between acting and believing in order to highlight the differences between the city (where we act) and the peripheral territories contained therein that are occupied by indigenous people (where we believe). This dichotomy lends itself to a conceptualization of the relation between peripheral and urban citizenship practices.
