This paper, read before the Conference of Historical Societies at the annual meeting of the American Historical Association, 1929, is the result of a search for archival material relating to Florida which extended over a number of years. That painstaking research has given Dr. Robertson a knowledge of the subject possessed by no one else and is assurance that this product of it is of great and unique value to all who may dig into the sources of early Florida history
