Protection of Traditional Cultural Expressions

This paper intends to study the protection of traditional cultural expressions in the context of the conventional intellectual property regime. It first identifies the genuine protection needs of indigenous communities. Next, the paper goes on to examine relevant treaties and touches upon the effectiveness of the type of protection. Last but not least, it presents the differences of positive and defensive protection strategies.
