The Expressive arts Therapy is an evolving field. The integrated use of the arts is ancient. It harks back to times when ceremonies of birth and death, marriage and coming of age, planting and harvesting, as well as rituals of spiritual, mental and physical healing, all involved the arts. Expressive Arts therapy-also referred to as intermodal expressive therapy, creative arts therapy, or interdisciplinary arts therapy- is the practice of using imagery, storytelling, dance, music, drama, poetry, movement, dreamwork, and visual arts together, in an integrated way, to foster human growth, development and deep psychological healing . The proposal of this article is to ensemble expressive arts and psychoanalysis as a useful tool in helplessness pathologies.La terapia de artes expresivas es un campo en evolución. El uso integrado de las artes es antiguo. Se remonta a los tiempos en que las ceremonias de nacimiento y muerte, el matrimonio y la mayoría de edad, la siembra y la cosecha, así como los rituales de curación espiritual, mental y física, involucraban todas las artes.                    La terapia de artes expresivas, también conocida como terapia expresiva intermodal, terapia de artes creativas o terapia de artes interdisciplinarias, es la práctica de usar imágenes, narración de cuentos, danza, música, drama, poesía, movimiento, trabajo onírico y artes visuales juntas, en un sistema integrado, para fomentar el crecimiento humano, el desarrollo y la curación psicológica profunda. La propuesta de este artículo es reunir artes expresivas y psicoanálisis como una herramienta útil en las patologías del desvalimiento
