Ageing

The 31st ESReDA Seminar was dedicated to the topical and important subject of Ageing. The world is getting increasingly complex and we are becoming more and more dependent on man-made systems and environments. Failures and lack of function may have increasing consequences to an increasing number of people. In many areas pressure on costs or use of resources is growing. This is a challenge to every organisation – how available resources can be used in the most effective way. In this situation ageing is an ever-present issue. People are ageing, some knowledge is ageing, components and systems are ageing as well as organisations are ageing. This topic has technical, human, organisational, and mathematical aspects and all of them need to be considered in order to achieve good results. The seminar aimed to provide answers to questions related to ageing as: What are the problems we are facing? How can they be solved?
