Revisión sistemática de cuarenta años de análisis de cambio de uso del suelo en México mediante sistemas de información geográfica

Mexico lost large areas of his ecosystems in the last decades. Much of it is in the hands of rural communities and their land-use changes affect biodiversity and reduce many vital ecosystem services. In the last four decades, these processes have been analyzed by spatial analysis tools such as geographic information technologies. The objective of this study was to systematize this information, considering the affiliation centers of the first author, journals used, state of the country, the timing of the analysis, data sources, software, models, methods, analysis, ecosystems, and territorial units. 196 articles matching all the criteria were found, which were classified and analyzed. The results showed that public institutions were the ones that carried out the most studies locally and nationally, in addition to being linked to foreign universities; Michoacán and Estado de México were the most analyzed states; The publications were concentrated in ten indexed magazines and university publications; the timing of the analysis depended on the study area; Landsat was the most used data source, regression models, matrix methods and multicriteria analyzes were the most common; studies and the use of free software have increased in the last ten years; Temperate forest was the most studied ecosystem, agriculture was the most presented land-use change, and the hydrological region was the most used as a territorial unit. This systematization will serve as a guide for future analyzes and sustainable projects.México perdió grandes áreas de sus ecosistemas en las últimas décadas. Buena parte están en manos de comunidades rurales, y sus cambios de uso del suelo afectan la biodiversidad, y reducen muchos servicios ecosistémicos vitales. En las últimas cuatro décadas estos procesos fueron analizados por diversas herramientas de análisis espacial, como las tecnologías de información geográfica. El objetivo de este estudio fue sistematizar esta información, considerando los centros de adscripción del primer autor, revistas utilizadas, estado del país, temporalidad del análisis, fuentes de datos, softwares, modelos, métodos, análisis, ecosistemas y unidades territoriales. Se encontraron 196 artículos coincidentes con todos los criterios anteriores, los cuales fueron clasificados y analizados. Los resultados mostraron que las instituciones públicas fueron las que más estudios realizaron a nivel local y nacional, además de vincularse con universidades extranjeras; Michoacán y Estado de México fueron los estados más analizados; las publicaciones estuvieron concentradas en diez revistas indexadas y publicaciones universitarias; la temporalidad del análisis dependió del área de estudio; la fuente de datos más usada fue Landsat, los modelos por regresión, los métodos por matrices y los análisis multicriterio fueron los más habituales; en los últimos diez años aumentaron los estudios y el uso de software libre; el bosque templado fue el ecosistema más estudiado, la agricultura fue el cambio de uso del suelo más frecuente y la región hidrológica fue la más utilizada como unidad territorial.
