Avifauna a lo largo del río Fucha en la ciudad de Bogotá, Colombia

Results of the characterization of birds in four locations along the Fucha River and recommendations to increase their abundance and diversity are presented here. By travelling counts 67 species (1464 individuals) belonging to 24 families were observed. The presence of 10 boreal migrant species and five near-endemic species is highlighted. Localities with the highest species richness were El Delirio Reserve with 46 species (35 exclusives) and San Cristobal with 22 species, while the lower species richness was found in Industriales with 16 species. San Cristobal and Marsella were the localities with greatest similarity (46.37%). El Delirio Reserve presented the lowest similarity (between 8 and 15%) in comparison to the other localities. Finally, it was observed that 32 species consumed one food type and 35 species two types, among these the most representative were small insects (IP) with 22 species followed by small insects and fruits (IP-F) with 10 species. In order to achieve a sustainable management of the site so that birds, their habitat, existing water resources, and the landscape are conserved, it green spaces inside the city must be protected, restored, and promoted.Se presentan los resultados de la caracterización de avifauna en cuatro sitios a lo largo del río Fucha yrecomendaciones para incrementar su abundancia y diversidad. Mediante recorridos libres se registraron 67especies (1464 individuos) pertenecientes a 24 familias. Se resalta la presencia de diez especies migratoriasboreales y cinco casi-endémicas. Los sitios con mayor riqueza fueron la reserva El Delirio con 46 especies (35exclusivas) y San Cristóbal con 22 especies, mientras que la de menor riqueza fue Industriales con 16. Los sitioscon mayor similitud fueron San Cristóbal y Marsella con 46,37 %, por otra parte el sitio con menos similitudrespecto al resto fue la reserva El Delirio (entre el 8 y 15 %). Finalmente, se encontró que 32 especies consumenun solo tipo de alimento y 35 dos tipos, dentro de estos los más representativos fueron insectos pequeños (IP)con 22 especies, seguido de insectos pequeños y frutos (IP-F) con 10 especies. Es necesario proteger, recuperary fomentar espacios verdes dentro de la ciudad dándole un manejo sostenible al entorno natural para poderconservar las aves y sus hábitats, así como el recurso hídrico, la calidad del aire y el paisaje en general
