Uma década da Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos?

We present reflections and analyzes related to the implementation of the National Solid Waste Policy in Brazil, ten years after its publication. We list the policy's fundamental precepts, showing how much has been incorporated by the 5,570 Brazilian municipalities, in their management processes and socioenvironmental principles and good practices in the perspective of the proper destination of the waste, extinction of the dumps waste, implantation of sanitary landfills, especially the reduction, reuse and recycling and the implementation of reverse logistics. Another aspect is the socio-productive inclusion of waste pickers, according to articles 7 and 8 of the law, which determine the organization in recycling associations and cooperatives to integrate them in waste management. We show elements that will help researchers and scholars to subsidize their investigations, in relation to the advances and setbacks, regarding the precepts of the law, in order to point out what has been accomplished by the sectors and subjects involved in the integrated solid waste management process in the country.Apresentamos reflexões e análises referentes à implementação da Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos no Brasil, passados dez anos de sua publicação. Elencamos preceitos fundantes da política, evidenciando o quanto tem sido incorporado pelos 5.570 municípios brasileiros, em seus processos de gestão e princípios e boas práticas socioambientais na perspectiva da destinação adequada dos resíduos, extinção dos lixões, implantação de aterros sanitários, sobretudo a redução, reutilização e reciclagem e a implementação da logística reversa. Outro aspecto é a inclusão sócio-produtiva dos catadores, conforme os artigos 7º e 8º da lei determinam a organização em associações e cooperativas de reciclagem para integrá-los na gestão dos resíduos. Mostramos elementos que contribuirão para pesquisadores e estudiosos subsidiarem suas investigações, em relação aos avanços e retrocessos, quanto aos preceitos da lei, no sentido de apontar o que vem sendo efetivado pelos setores e sujeitos envolvidos no processo de gestão integrada de resíduos sólidos no país
