Activities removing o-acetyl, arabinose, cinnamic acid-based esters, and uronic acid substituents occurred inStreptomyces olivochromogenes, Aspergillus niger, andSchizophyllum commune. 4-O-Methylglucuronidase was coinduced with other substituent-hydrolyzing enzymes when appropriate lignocellulosic materials were provided.
