In this study, the characterization of organizational commitment standards, established in an earlier work, which has validated the conceptualization model of three components of organizational commitment established by Meyer and Allen (1991) was performed. The research was based on 373 interviews carried out among employees and their supervisors in 201 companies in the State of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The personal characteristics and their dimensions which differentiate the established commitment standards were identified.
