This report describes the development of CFD predictions for the forces and flow patterns for an escort tug at typical operating angles to the flow and the comparison of these predictions with data from model experiments. Some conclusions are made on the effectiveness of commercial RANS based CFD codes within the design process for ship hulls that are required to operate at large yaw angles. In the case of an escort tug this angle can be up to 45 degrees.NRC publication: Ye
