Web Services is a new direction for businesses to extend the scope of their business applications outside their firewalls. While service providers might require their consumers to provide some personal or financial information before granting access to their services, consumers are always concerned about the privacy risk associated with revealing such information. Consumers are also becoming aware of the dollar-value of their personal information and are willing sometimes to negotiate for some added-value services in return for this information.
