The design and construction of a line-generating unit in conjunction with a computer-controlled display system under development is described. Some background and justification for a line generator are discussed. Incremental binary rate multiplier techniques are used in the design of the line generator. The digital logic functions were constructed with flip-chip modules (DEC). The system is discussed with particular reference to astraight-line (vector) generator, but modifications to include circles and ellipses are also mentioned.NRC publication: Ye
