A survey of some problems with brick masonry buildings

Because reports had been received by DBR/NRC that problems had developed in the brick masonry walls of a variety of apartment and other residential buildings, arrangements were made for the authors to examine some of them in an endeavour to determine the causes. Visits to the buildings were carried out in the spring of 1975, and this Note records the observations made; it also attempts to provide an explanation for the difficulties experienced.Peer reviewed: NoNRC publication: Ye
