The Texture and fabric of the second year sea ice cover at Mould Bay, Prince Patrick Island, NWT, April 1983

The history of the profile of snow and ice thickness of a sea ice cover, across 7 km. wide Mould Bay, has been studied over a period of two years. It aged from young ice to second-year ice. This is presented along with the observations made on the changes that took place in the physical, chemical (salinity) and microstructure of the ice.
