Observations of heat and moisture exchange were made over saturated Sphagnum moss in a grass-covered area in 1960 and in a peat bog near Ottawa during the summer and fall of 1964. The various components in the energy balance equation were measured or calculated. Air temperature observations were made over the peat bog and compared with air temperatures recorded at a nearby standard meteorological station. The results from these measurements and observations are analysed and discussed.
