This paper briefly describes the test facility and the test method which has been used to investigate the effectiveness of the special sprinkler systems. It provides the results of the test series to determine the maximum window width which can be protected by a single sprinkler, and the use of a multi-sprinkler system for the protection of very wide windows with and without millions. The paper also deals with the effectiveness of ceiling-mounted sprinklers.
