The temperature of the air in an air conditioned room depends on the rate at which heat enters the room, the rate at which heat is removed from the room, and the heat storage capacity of the structure. The calculation of room air temperature or room cooling load is quite involved as the ambient conditions, the characteristics of the cooling plant and the characteristics of the structure must all be considered together. The calculation involves the solution of several equations, both algebraic and differential, that describe the performance of the cooling system and the structure.
