With the comprehensive study and complete sequencing of the Haemophilus influenzae genome in 1995 came the term \u2018genomics\u2019 and the beginning of the \u2018omics\u2019 era. Since this time, several analogous fields, such as transcriptomics and proteomics, have emerged.
