The system Zr(Feo,,5Cr0,,5)2 + Hz has been reported to exhibit one compound hydride phase Zr(Fe0,,5Cr0,25)2Hw, ith x 2 1.8. The present in situ free energy/enthalpy measurements indicate a more complex situation involving two compound hydrides, one having the approximate composition 1.8 5 x 5 2.0, and the other, x s 2.3. The steady state pressure-composition and calorimetric evidence for this is presented and discussed.Peer reviewed: YesNRC publication: Ye
