This report presents an overview of the issues related to the safe evacuation of personnel from offshore structures in ice-covered waters. The report discusses and evaluates the various approaches that have been used, or are being planned for use, on different platform structures in ice-covered waters. The report examines and classifies different evacuation scenarios and systems, reviews existing experiences from various ice-covered regions around the world, and identifies gaps where research and development could improve the safety of evacuation systems.NRC publication: Ye
