Process of electrodeposition of nickel from acetatum-chloride and acetatum-sulfate-chloride electrolytes is investigated. It is established that an increase in carbon content in steel shifts the polarization curve in the negative direction at potentials electronegative -0.7 V. Electrolytes with additive CH3COONH4 possess higher buffer capacity. Ranges of reception of qualitative nickel coatings with a high exit on a current at room temperature are defined. In the investigated electrolyte coating is withstood the test at a thickness of 20 and 40 microns
