This work was carried out to evaluate the productivity and sawing quality of five tropical wood species using a portable sawmill. The study was carried out at Cristo Rei do Uatumã Rural Settlement located at Presidente Figueiredo Municipality, Amazonas State, Brazil (2° 02' 54,79" S e 60° 01' 39,63" W). It was used 10 logs for species for collecting data regarding the parameters defined in this work. The average productivity for the studied species ranged from 38,53 % up to 50,81 %.
