Although adornments made from animal bones and teeth are only rarely found in graves from the Neolithic period, they can be used to indicate the uniqueness and originality of local cultures and local artists. The main focus of this article is to provide an overview of such artefacts in Neolithic graves in Central Europe – their location in the grave, the age and sex of the buried individuals.
