The pigment synthesis loss is observed under influence of heavy metal (HM) ions on bacteria in the hard culture medium. After the recultivation of such bacteria on a medium without HM ions, the pigment synthesis renews. It is lost again by cultivation on the medium with HM ions, but with rather higher their concentration. The loss of the bacterial pigment synthesis under influence of HM ions may be used for the environment HM pollution monitoring
