National Documentation Centre: software development for public databases management

Περιέχει τη περίληψηThe aspects of organising and running a Greek Information Service for Greek Public Access Data Bases are presented. Initially, the major problems are discussed. Such problems are: delay in the establishment of the Public Data Network by the Organisation of Telecommunication of Greece; lack of data in machine readable form etc. The process of the National Documentation Centre's (NDC) establishment is briefly described. Also the objectives and scope of the NDC are discussed. Describes the system's design and software development to enable: implementation of the Common Command Language (CCL); the implementation of CCL's extension, extended Command Language (XCCL); implementation of CCL's Greek version, Greek Command Language (GCL). 0
