Tecnologías de información y comunicación para la formación de documentalistas en genómica médica

The recent publication of the human genome together with current research activities represent a huge and growing source of information which is voluminous, complex in structure, dispersed throughout different formats, and generally available over the internet. Access to information about the human genome will represent a habitual and routine practice for health professionals. This is why we suggest a new task for information professionals working in biomedical libraries: to facilitate information in this new domain. To make this possible, the Institute of Health ‘Carlos III’ through two of its units (The Medical Bioinformatics Department and the National Library of Health Sciences) proposed the BIB-GEN project.
