The article reports on a new authority file that can accommodate several different classification schemes that are used by local libraries of the Austrian Library Network. This database has been implemented only recently, using the "Aleph 500" library software. The first local institution that uses this authority file is the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna (Austria). The paper goes into detail on the following aspects: structure and features of this library's specialized classification system, grouping of the project into four phases and implementation of the first phase (setup of tables and parameters, data element catalogue, data input, indexing).
