The purpose of this document is to report on "The 1st Student and Faculty Conference" held in July 2008, and to analyze its results based on the inquiry survey conducted after the conference. This conference was conducted to debate on the following theme, "the ideal form of the Liberal Arts courses". By referring to the latest teaching methods as a guide, the students and the faculties debated on this topic, without having the differences in their status get in the way of holding a thorough debate. The reactions by the students were generally very positive. However, there are several issues that may need improvements on, such as the time management of the conference, and further enrichment of the debate topics
