We propose a possible new superconducting state between the metallic and Wigner solid phases for the repulsive two-dimensional electron gas. This is demonstrated using a statistical transmutation followed by average flux and random phase approximations. The superconductivity is related to the spin-unpolarized half-filled quantum Hall state, and is a fermion analogy of anyon superconductivity. © 1994 The American Physical Society.link_to_subscribed_fulltex
