A doubly salient permanent-magnet machine with a doubly fed stator is studied. In this machine, not only the doubly-fed stator, which means there are armature winding and field winding placed in the stator, is adopted, but also an additional paralleled magnetic sub-path aside from the permanent-magnetic bodies is put forward. By the suitable design of the reluctance of the paralleled magnetic sub-path, a large adjustable flux range can be achieved easily with small field MMFs.
