Systems Theory as a Theoretical Framework for Interdisciplinary Study of Law

A lot of research works have been done on interdisciplinarity and law. Knowing or not, many legal researchers have already been using interdisciplinary knowledge and skills in their legal research. However, a lot of these works do not have any structured framework to provide a theoretical underpinning for the interactive relationships between law and other disciplines. This presentation will explore whether one needs to have a theoretical framework to conduct a research on interdisciplinarity and law; whether systems theory could be such a theoretical framework; and how the systems theory can enhance one’s understanding on the interactive relationships between law and other disciplines
