Hubungan Patron-Klien Sebagai Strategi Pengembangan Ternak Sapi Perah Di Pedesaan (Studi Kasus Peternak Sapi Perah Desa Telogosari, Kecamatan Tutur, Kabupaten Pasuruan Propinsi Jawa Timur)

The purpose of this study to describe the patron-client relationships among breeders in the village of Telogosari, Tutur district, Pasuruhan. Tologosari village is an area that most residents of their living raising dairy cows. This study is a qualitative descriptive study. The data was collected through observation, participant observation, and in-depth interviews. There are several Patron-client relationship patterns among breeders: a) farmers and livestock owners with a pattern of work-sharing system, b) the owner and breeder of permanentworkers, c) breeders and buyers of products (milk) in cooperatives. Patterns of patron-client relationship between farmers and breeders owners occur because of economic inequality The relationships between farmers and the owners are generally strong and durable because they need each other to keep their clients. Similarly, farmers relate with cooperatives due to the monopoly of the purchase of milk. However, the relationship between owners and workers generally do not last long because the workers have independent means to maintain their dairy cattles, whether their own or someone else's. Pattern of patron-client relationshipsamong dairy farmers is oneway of developing dairy cows in the village of Telogosari. Keywords: breeders, patron-client, rural economy, relationship pattern
