Strategi Budaya Petani Dalam Merespons Kredit di Desa Kebonrejo, Kecamatan Kepung Kabupaten Kediri Provinsi Jawa Timur

Credit in rural areas cause a different response among peasants. Therefore qualitative research was conducted in the village Kebonrejo, Kepung district, Kediri Regency in year 2004/2005. The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze the cultural strategies of peasants in responding to the credit in the village. The research concluded are generally peasants involved personal loans, government and private institutions. Cultural strategy of peasants in responding credit are to access multiple sources of credit, although there are some peasants to stop loans from financial institutions because it makes kemrungsung, play and dig holes securities vent cap. Credit for peasants-traders have a positive impact because it is generally to extent business. But for peasants who do not have offfarm business raises many problems and bring peasants into debt, “ gali lubang tutup lubang” even rich peasants went bankrupt and emerged rich peasants.
