Oral Communication Session 3: abstract no. 116OBJECTIVE: This study evaluated the effect of proanthocyanidin (PA) incorporation into experimental dental adhesives on resin-dentine bond strength and dentine pulp complex. METHODS: The experimental adhesive was first formulated by combining 50 wt% comonomer mixtures with 50 wt% ethanol. Proanthocyanidin was then added directly to the ethanol-solvated experimental adhesives to yield concentrations of 1.0 wt%, 2.0 wt% and 3.0 wt%. The PA-free experimental adhesive served as the control. Prepared dentine surfaces from extracted third molars were bonded using the experimental adhesives and divided into 4 groups and proceed for microtensile bond strength testing after 24 hrs in artificial saliva.
