Selected, peer reviewed paper from the 2010 International Conference on Advances in Materials and Manufacturing Processes (ICAMMP 2010), 6-8 November, 2010, Shenzhen, ChinaTo assess the behavior of concrete beams partially prestressed with external unbonded carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) tendons, three specimens prestressed with CFRP tendons and one reference specimen prestressed with external steel tendons were tested to failure under third point loading. It was found that the load-deflection curve of all specimens exhibited three stages, namely, elastic, cracked-elastic and plastic.
