We find that a self-assembling peptide (SAP) nanofiber scaffold used in combination of ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) can facilitate the reconstruction of a tissue substrate that supports regeneration across the tissue disruption and CNTF promoted growth of axons across the injury site.
