I have developed a simple program which exercises communication in concurrent processor operating systems. It allows comparison of both the programming model used in the operating system and the efficiency of its implementation. I have run this program with both loosely synchronous and multi-tasking operating systems on the Caltech/JPL Mark II Hypercube and the BBN Butterfly
