Educational Technology Portfolio

An educational technology portfolio was completed as a creative component project to meet the requirement for the educational technology masters program in the School of Education at Iowa State University. Artifacts included in this portfolio were aligned to the program’s standards of: 1) Technology planning and integration, 2) Digital citizenship, 3) Research and assessment, and 4) Visionary leadership. To show competency on standard one technology, planning, and integration, I created an online nonfiction unit with Canvas for a fifth-grade literacy class to create a blended learning environment for students to engage in nonfiction reading outside of the traditional classroom. For the second standard, I chose two artifacts where I used Facebook in my educational practice to explore social media use and copyright and fair use in education. To show competency on the research and assessment standard I chose to utilize a research paper that I wrote because I believe it reflects my best work when it comes to academic research. The artifact I chose to represent my leadership practice and skills is the grant proposal I wrote focusing on using technology with all students
