Information on the mechanical properties of high-strength concrete is needed for the design of structures incorporating high-strength concrete but so far very few such data is available. During the course of various studies on the production of high-strength concrete in Hong Kong, the mechanical properties of high-strength concrete, including: (1) cube compressive strength, (2) cylinder compressive strength, (3) modulus of rupture, (4) split cylinder tensile strength, (5) elastic modulus, (6) Poisson's ratio, and (7) drying shrinkage, have been measured and their inter-relationships analyzed. Test results so obtained are compared to existing results by others to see if the high-strength concrete in Hong Kong is similar to those made elsewhe...
