Dental care workers, like their medical counterparts, are exposed to many occupational hazards. These range from toxicity to chemicals that are routinely used in dentistry, threat of blood-borne infectious diseases, and musculoskeletal disease consequential to poor working posture. Nonetheless, awareness of these occupational hazards and implementation of preventive strategies can provide a safe practice environment for all concerned.
