Two hundred eighty-two female RNs from Iowa responded to a mailed questionnaire two years after graduating from: (a) diploma nursing programs; (b) associate degree nursing (ADN) programs; or (c) baccalaureate nursing programs for RN students who had previously graduated from ADN and diploma nursing programs (BSN-RN). Professional role was measured by Stone\u27s (1979) Health Care Professional Attitude Inventory as modified for nurses by Lawler (1988). In addition, a variety of socialization factors were measured.
