The movement of women into the labor force has sparked a wide variety of research topics, but the movement of women into traditionally male-dominated careers has not been thoroughly investigated. While most research in this area has tended to focus upon females\u27 occupational interest, there exists a need to address the adjustment of women to these nontraditional careers after they have obtained the position. The primary purpose of this study was to identify a number of life experiences and personal characteristics that are related to women\u27s adjustment and perceived success in nontraditional careers.
