A knowledge-based approach to H∞ computer-aided control system design is considered. The system is made up of a knowledge-based expert system and a learning system. The knowledge structure comprising a design knowledge base, a general knowledge base and a meta-knowledge base is proposed to facilitate learning. Two different learning strategies, learning through critic and learning-from-discovery, are considered for refining the design knowledge base.published_or_final_versio
