AC losses in the windings of an HTS transformer are important to design its system. We fabricated an HTS transformer and measured the AC losses. We estimated the AC losses by following procedures. First, we calculated the magnetic field distribution in each turn. Secondary, we estimated the losses of each turn referring to AC losses in the strand. Finally, we can calculate the AC loss in the windings by the total sum of the losses in each turn. We compared the calculated result with observed one, and discussed the validity of the proposed method
