Transformation and Characteristics of Conservation Plan for Nanjing City Wall

The purpose of this research is to figure out the characteristics and issues of the conservation plan for the Nanjing city wall. At first, the characteristics, establishment situations and the planning process of the conservation plan for important cultural properties in China were analyzed. Also, the influence that the policies implemented by the government gave in the transformation of the conservation plan for the Nanjing city wall was examined. The results are as follows: 1) The features and issues of the conservation plan for the Nanjing city wall were clarified. 2) The importance of participation from multiple disciplines of the government and establishment of pliable plans considering the characteristics of cultural properties were implied
