Add to ORKGThe effect of γ-ray irradiation on inosine-5\u27-monophosphate (5\u27-IMP) and guanosine-5\u27-monophosphate (5\u27-GMP) in aqueous solution and in \u22kamaboko\u22 was investigated to evaluate the rate of decomposition and to elucidate the safety of the decompsed products, under the concentration of 0.025% and irradiation dose of 3.00×10^5 rad. Ribose-phosphate compound, inorganic phosphate and 2\u27-, 3\u27-nucleotides were ascertained when either 5\u27-IMP or 5\u27-GMP aqueous solution was irradiated. G value of 5\u27-IMP and 5\u27-GMP in aqueous solution were estimated to be 1.29 and 0.97, respectively.
