This paper aims to clarify the current status of the modernization of housings in a modern farm village of Isan, the northeastern part of the kingdom of Thailand. Isan is a region where people speak a dialect like Laotian and eat sticky rice instead of Thai rice, is different from other parts of the country, thus, the formation of farm villages are supposed to be different. This paper investigates Isan farm houses in Dang Pong village, 10 km outside of Khon Kaen city center, discusses the typology of houses based on the analysis of modernization process.
